Community leaders from the Bhutanese Community in Nebraska (BCN) took part in a suicide prevention training offered by the Department of Health and Human Services on April 26.

According to Karna Gurung, 20 community leaders received the training.
The training was aimed at teaching basic concepts on suicide and its prevention, informed he.
The training materials also included QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer), causes of suicides, and preventive measures.
Its president, Bhim Gurung, said that the board has already decided to hold second phase of the training in near future by involving both the community and local agencies.
Nebraska community hasn’t witnessed any suicide as of now.
