King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk arrived the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, with Queen Gyaltsuen, on a five-day official visit.
According to media reports from Bangladesh, the country’s Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni received the Bhutanese royals on Thursday.
While in Dhaka, the King is scheduled to call on Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Zillur Rahman, and hold discussions on bilateral issues.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Jhesar is accompanied by Economic Affairs Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister-In-Charge, Khandu Wangchuck, and Economic Affairs Secretary, Sonam Tshering.
This is the second visit of the royals to Bangladesh after the coronation. He had visited Dhaka on March 26, 2011 as a special guest during 40th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
