The five-member executive board headed by Ghale included Kamal Dahal as Vice Chair, exiled journalist Indra Adhikari as General Secretary, Jeevan Koirala as Treasurer and Sushil Niroula as Public Officer, stated a press circular issued, Wednesday.

The new team took over the responsibility amidst a special function held on April 6 at the office of Migrant Resource Centre, 28 Mary St, Salisbury, mentioned the circular.

The circular also quoted outgoing Chairperson Jogen Gazmere as expressing his hope that the new board, comprised of all young, energetic, qualified and experienced members, would drive BASA to a new height.

Meanwhile, community members Sushil Pokhrel, Gopal Ghimirey, Bishnu Maya Dahal and T.B. Rai, among others also expressed their views during the event, chaired by former political prisoner R.K.Ghaley.

  1. THANK TO SOUTH AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT FOR NOT RESETTLING SO CALLED BHUTANESE LEADERS, OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THIS NEW FACE. CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK TO SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BHUTANESE FOR HAVING NEW COMMUNITY LEADERS. MAKE SURE THAT THIS GENTLEMAN HAS NEVER BEEN INFLUENCED BY POOR VISION OF SO CALLED LEADERS.

  2. Keep up your good work. One day you displaced and ignored people from Bhutan should challenge your King and government of Bhutan for their mistreatment and crime.

    Be strong, be united!

    Your well wisher,
    From Adelaide Australia.

  3. kishmat sharma or Jigme’s cousin ? Confused to see his political comment. I do hate some of our Chamcha neeta from our community, but I hate the ethnic cleanser (JSW) the most.

By the way Congratulation to the entire team. Good to see our young and energetic friends holding responsible to strengthen and support our Bhutanese community.

    Congratulation Guys and Gals!

  4. Well done in Australia and many congratulations.Ramesh above doesn’t make a lot of sense. I share some of the opinion by Kishmat. Not all Bhutanese leaders bad but some like the […] have spoiled our small community. Nepal to Germany and to UK! Let us the young generation do something with new ideas – we are sick of old and outdated ideas.
well done once again to the Australian team

  5. why do we fooking need BAASA and a bunch of crooks who want to practice their camp politics here? for that they should go back to nepal & play their dirty politics there. cmn folks we dont need them here….we are in Australia now & let the various welfare groups, churches & volunteer organizations do their jobs in looking after us instead of having to go through these bunch crooks with vested interest in playing dirty politics & interfering with our lives just as they used to do in camps in nepal.

  6. Netra I do have same frustration. But if we youth like you and me do not unite and bring the new ideas and strategies together, how would be our history look like ?

Remember my friends, JIgme and their agents, today also working hard to clean our history form Bhutan. They, who did ethnic cleansing are these days considering us illegal/economical immigrants. Do you know they already started to change the name of our villages and towns. Very sad news for all of us!

If you do not agree, see the corrupt minded Chamchas above like kishmat sharma and few more in BNS comments section creating confusion on us to create fraction and misunderstanding among us. If they could do that they would be able to implement their conspiracy.

So, friend it is our (the young generation ) responsibility to challenge the conspiracy designed by Jigme and his diplomets, to get the justice for the ethnic cleansing done by Jigme.

Finally, we do need to be aware with some of our crooked and corrupted leaders. Remember not all of our leaders are bad, but few of them made other look bad. You need to clean and sweep them out to start a strong and effective Bhutanese community.

    Thanks!

  7. Congratulation to Suren Ghaley bhai and the team members for being elected to lead the Bhutanese community in South Australia. I also extend my best regards to Jogen sir and former executive members of BAASA who have worked hard to shape up the foundation of a new community there. The new ideas and enthusiasm combined with experience, expertise and guidence from the former team shall obviously reach BAASA to a great success.Best of luck.

  8. hai ramesh and manesh

I am a Bhutanese citizen like you. The only difference is you worship your Almighty so called leaders but I don’t. These days hardly 1% of the Bhutanese people with blank head like u believe in these so called leaders. unfortunately, this is a very bad fortune for them and yourself. we believe in young generations with modern education, crystal clear opinion and visions. I am very sorry if it hurts you.
