Narayan is currently pursuing the degree of Master in laws (LL.M) at Georgetown University Law Center, Washington DC specializing in International Human Rights Law. Prior to this, Mr. Sharma earned his Master of Laws (LL. M) and Master of Philosophy in Law (M.Phil) degrees from National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India, specializing in International Law and International Refuge Law. He earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from North Bengal University, West Bengal, India.
After arriving in USA in February 2011, Mr. Sharma worked as Research Interviewer for D B Consulting Inc. in Maryland in the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) annual Survey on refugees. Immediately before leaving for USA, he was working as an Associate professor of Law at Bright Vision Law College, Purvanchal University in Nepal for about a year. Prior to that, he worked in the capacity of Assistant professor of law at Kathmandu School of Law under Purvanchal University, Nepal for over 4 years. He had begun his full-fledged teaching career as lecturer of Law in Tezpur Law College, University of Guwahati, Assam in India in 2004. His areas of interest include Jurisprudence, International Law, International Human Rights Law, International Refugee Law, Restorative Justice, Humanitarian law, Investor-State Dispute Resolution and other related areas.
Mr. Sharma has published both research and newspaper articles in the areas of his interest. He intends to practice international law after completion of his studies in USA.
Born and raised in Gelephug under Sarbhang district of Bhutan, Mr. Sharma fled the country in 1992 following the crackdown on Southern Bhutanese by the Royal Government of Bhutan. He currently lives in Riverdale of Maryland (USA) with his parents, wife and two daughters.
